Clear boundaries for local storage and browser cookies.

1. What are Cookies and Local Storage?

Cookies are small text files stored on your browser. Modern web applications also use LocalStorage and SessionStorage to preserve your settings locally on your device without transmitting data back to remote servers on every click.

2. Strictly Necessary Storage (Always Active)

These local values are strictly required for the platform to function securely and preserve your session states:

• iittl_consent_v1 (LocalStorage): Stores your consent preferences (advertising vs rejected) for Google Consent Mode v2 and CMP compliance. Retained for 12 months.
• iittl_intake_session (SessionStorage): Temporarily holds form fields during active questionnaire completion. Erased when you close your browser tab or click "Delete Report & Clear Data".

3. Advertising & Marketing Cookies (Consent Required)

When you provide affirmative consent in the European Economic Area (EEA), UK, or Switzerland, third-party advertising partners such as Google AdSense may set cookies to measure ad performance and serve contextual or personalized advertisements on monetizable pages.

Strict Isolation Guarantee: Advertising scripts are never loaded on personal assessment routes (/questionnaire, /find-my-situation, /report/*) or crisis/escalation screens.

4. Managing Your Preferences
